Teaching and parenting

Yesterday, i had some students ask if i can teach an extra day so that they can train 3 times a week instead of just the two. Apparently, they prefer having me a teacher because i keep correcting their mistakes (even if it is the same one over and over again) and i try to make sure that if i divide the class and teach them in turn, each has approximately the same amount of time under my tutelage. I also teach them what to correct and they can practice that while im teaching the others. They said that not all the teachers do all that and it makes them feel neglected if they aren't corrected or not given the same amount of time. I guess this is a good lesson for me for when i have kids. I always felt that equal time is important and correction of mistakes is good for children. I figure that im right. It is funny to think of these older guys as my kids but i guess in karate, i am their "parent" and its nice to be appreciated for my fairness aside from my good teaching techniques.
