I subscribed to receive this comic strip called Zits. The particular thread these past few days caught my attention. Apparently, being a good boy at this day and age is not really something to be desired. There was a time when a guy being presentable enough to introduce to parents was a rare catch. Now, it is uncool to be nice or good.

When did this happen? Was it the James Dean thing? If you just happen to be a good boy, should you change? If you know that something is wrong, wouldn't it go against reason to do it? It is so easy to be bad. Would being 'bad' start someone in the direction that will move me away from God? If that is the case then it wouldn't be a good idea, right?
Is this bad boy something a male desires to get the girls? However, what kind of girls would one attract if one is bad? Are there still some girls who would prefer the ones that doesn't have to be 'fixed' big time? Also, does the girls' preference over bad boys create the kind of men who eventually will end up hurting them. Simple logic right? Women's preference will make men choose to be bad and being bad means choosing the lifestyle which focuses on selfish fun not the selfless loving that a good relationship needs to survive.
If you're a good boy, is it possible for you to change into a bad one and yet keep from changing who you are?
Is it just a matter of clothes or the attitude you project or does it mean that you have to change how you think or act in certain ways. Is an 'image' something that can be changed or will the impression that you're 'good' something that is stamped on your forehead and will last there for the rest of your life?

Friday the thirteenth and I’m stuck at my home office cramming to put together my company’s Income Tax Return which is due on Monday. While sorting out expenses, I stumbled on some interesting receipts. Aside from pictures and letters, nothing brings back memories like receipts. Like moments in life, some are nice and some you would love to just forget. The nice ones are:

1) the one from the time I got to catch up on things at Chocolate Kiss Café with my ex

2) the one from Haagen Daaz which reminded me of the ice cream I shared with a young colleague who wanted to go out with me

3) the receipt for the parts of the fountain I made for my sister on her birthday

4) the gas receipts for when I pushed my car to its limits just to go to nueva ecija in time for my friend’s wedding (it was fun but the gas I expended was not something to laugh at)

5) the bill for the roses I sent to London to greet a special person

The ones I wish I didn’t see again are:

1) the toll, gas, restaurants and shoe store receipts from the time I was deluding myself that this particular girl from paranaque liked me (I have a strong suspicion that I was being …. Never mind)

2) the receipt from the Hotel Intercontinental café where they served me and my date glasses of water laced with a handful of little cockroaches (and they didn’t even apologize for it)

3) motor shop receipt for one of my little fender benders (I swear, it was the bus that was at fault, the MMDA officer saw everything!)

4) the receipt from Saisaki edsa where we found rat turd in the sushi rice.

It is a nice way of looking at the year that passed. I get to relive the nice days and I remember the lessons from the expensive mistakes J

I just came from Shop wise. I time my grocery shopping for the first wednesday of the month so that i can avail of the double points for the Wise Card. After coming out of the check out line, i realized a few things.

1) If my mom complained of spending 500 pesos for a large shopping cart full of groceries when i was a kid, i wonder how she feels about my spending over a thousand pesos for a basket full of stuff.

2) Shop wise sugar is a little dirtier than the other brands. I'm not sure if its really dirty but if you shake the bag, there are little things there which aren't white.

3) Some people, like me, really do buy some stuff just to avail of raffles :) Heck, i was so unlucky in gambling the few times i tried it that i quit! I guess this is the only gambling i care to try my luck in.

4) Freebies rock! Got me a mini tube of toothpaste with the large tube i got.

5) If i get the razor with the aloe lubricant, i need to pay extra for it. I think it wouldn't really make that much of a difference since i use shaving cream anyway. Still, i should try it again but this time just to note the difference.

6) Are mangoes really more expensive than oranges? Di ba imported yung oranges while the mangoes are grown locally? Im basing it on how Tang Mango is more expensive :) Wala bang Tang Durian? (Oh wow! This reminds me of the freakingly good Durian shake we had in Cotabato last March 4)

7) Argh! I forgot to buy astringent and alcohol!

Have a blessed Holy Week!
